Very nicely written piece.

For the most part, I usually felt that there shouldn't be too many limits placed on companies. If they can innovate better than the competitors, so be it. The problem is that we're at a point where some of these companies are so powerful that there is no realistic way that a competitor can even arise. And then add these sleezy practices and it's just downright nefarious.

I am rethinking my positions here, and I am leaning towards yes, these companies need restrictions. They can't be a general set of restrictions though. The laws and government need agile minds and roles that can move as fast as these companies to keep tabs on them. I don't think our current system has the proper processes in place to take on this challenge until it's too late to intervene anyway.
